So, what makes a happy worker ?
So what actually is it that enthuses us enough to get up in the morning and get to work?
Every individual wants to join an organisation where he / she can learn, grow and move up the ladder of success.
The next time you hear someone say - "I love my work and I love where I work!" make sure to ask them exactly why they feel that way.
Probably for Some of these obvious reasons -
- Their boss / the management trusts them and their abilities. They are given an open hand to make decisions, try different things and bring new ideas to the table.
- The Management listens to them and involves them in decision making at all levels.
- Individuals are regularly asked to attend feedback sessions related to performance and work - Appreciation for work well done and opportunities for improvement.
- All team members are treated as equals. Bonuses, recognition and salary hikes are given to those who genuinely deserve it where possible.
- Individual’s ideas and opinions really do count within the business.
- Good rapport is shared between the individual / team and with the management.
- Individuals are made to feel a sense of belonging and respected within the work place.
- Regular training sessions are offered to keep all staff abreast with the latest in their industry. Openness is key to performance.
- The work culture in the work place differs from an "all work and no play" scenario. Besides working hard, all staff members do fun things together along with the management team – teambuilding, quizzes, contests etc.
Isn’t this what we all strive to aspire for our staff?
